Universal Studios Japan is located in Osaka, Japan and it is one of four Universal Studios theme parks. It opened in 2001 as the first Universal Studios outside the US. The park consists of 9 areas, including rides, show attractions, and theater-style attractions. Many attractions are located indoor, so visitors can enjoy even on bad weather days.

The attractions are located in nine areas of the park.

All the names of the attractions and restaurants are given a name complementing the theme as seen from above. These is the first dimension of Disneyization which is theming.

The Universal Studio not only serves as an entertainment and leisure park, they also have food and beverage services. Private events such as weddings can be held there too. There will also be live entertainment shows and educational features whereby visitors can learn more about computer- generated animation and the art of making a hit movie. With such wide variety of services, this shows that the hybrid consumption is present in the park as it does not only cater to just one form one consumptions and it is associated with an aspect of insitutional spheres as they become interlocked with each other.

Like all the other theme park, it consists of a retail shop where tourists are able to bring home a tangible item of their experience to add on to their memories of their visit. Souvenirs and products such as keychains, shirts and stationaries printed with the Universal Studio Logo are legalised tangible merchandise. These products are mass produced for sales under the license of the Universal Studio. This is evident that there is merchandising, whereby there is the sales of goods in the form or bearing copyrighted images or logos.

In a theme park, there are bound to be mascots in the frontline to entertain visitors as it adds on to the tangibility of the experience. It is obvious that they are not really Shrek or Hello Kitty but it is what they have to display as it is their job to do so. This delibrate display of characters is their job, which is a form of labour, is evident in showing that this is a dimension of performative labour.
