Tourism- Culprit in commodifying cultures and traditions?

I do agree that disneyifization is the culprit for commofidying cultures and tradtions. Out of the four elemenrs of disneyifization, merchandsing and perfomative labour are the ones that caused standardization and commodificaiton. Merchandising is, in a sense, standardising as it involves mass production of their own licensed products such as the one seen in Universal Studio. The cultural meaning is lost as it is duplicated and a replica. As for perfomative labour, it involves people performing to meet the needs and demands of the tourists whenever they want. This is a form of commodification as they change to adopt to the needs of the tourist.

Therefore, I agree that disney is the culprit in commodifying cultures and tradions to a large extent.
